Job Description:

The German Swiss International School (GSIS) is one of Hong Kong's leading international schools providing quality, holistic education to a multinational student body of approximately 1300 students and 240 faculty and staff. The school is organised into two Streams, German and English leading to qualifications in the German International Abitur and I/GCSE & IBDP respectively. Community Relations and Development Assistant Manager/Manager

The Community Relations and Development Assistant Manager/Manager will play a crucial role in fostering relationships with stakeholders, cultivating and stewarding donor relationships, enhancing the school's visibility, and spearheading fundraising initiatives. The goal is to cultivate a strong sense of community spirit and a vibrant culture of philanthropy within German Swiss International School (GSIS). This role calls for a passionate individual committed to promoting the school's mission and values within the community.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and nurture relationship, enhance engagement, and explore collaboration opportunities with GSIS's stakeholders, including the community, donors, consulates, chambers of commerce, as well as cultural, and social organisations
  • Represent the school at relevant events and activities, fostering connections through networking to support student enrolment, corporate partnerships, and fundraising efforts
  • Conduct outreach to the business community to promote corporate philanthropy
  • Develop a strategic framework for identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, advancing the school's vision and mission.
  • Maintain and grow the alumni network and database by capturing the details of the graduating classes, organising reunions and gatherings, and ensuring effective communication
  • Review, update and enhance the alumni and donor sections on the official website, ensuring content is current and engaging
  • Manage the CRM system to keep donor information and historical data up-to-date, and compile analytical report on donor contributions and fundraising campaigns
  • Collaborate with the Parents' Organisation for Community (POC) to support their initiatives and foster community spirit
  • Strengthen relationships with the GSIS community by overseeing various community event such as Christmas Bazaar, gala, donor appreciation events, alumni gatherings, and other fundraising activities, etc
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by the Director of Advancement

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as communications, public relations, marketing, non-profit management, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5-8 years solid experience in community relations, development/sales, fundraising, with a proven record of success
  • Strong account management and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent command of English with exceptional writing skills is essential. Knowledge in German, Cantonese and Mandarin is an advantage
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
  • Knowledge of best practices in non-profit fundraising
  • Proven track record in developing, planning, and executing events and/or fundraising campaigns
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multitask and deliver high-quality work against tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Veracross would be an advantage
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality, loyalty, discretion, and sensitivity of given material
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for contributing to impactful initiatives
